Lantern Cave ("the game") is a short puzzle adventure for Android phones. This policy explains how the game handles your information. The short version: it collects nothing and sends nothing. The only thing it keeps is a small save file on your own phone.
What the game collects
Nothing. The developer does not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal information or usage data.
- The game does not use the internet. It does not ask Android for internet access, and everything it needs (graphics, sounds, text) comes inside the download.
- There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising software and no social features.
- The game does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos or files, and it does not ask for your name, email address or date of birth.
- The game does not ask for any Android permissions at all.
What the game keeps on your phone
A small save file, stored in the game's private storage on your phone. It holds which chapters you have finished, your best time for each, the last chapter you played, your graphics settings (such as shadows and smoothing), and whether the later chapters are unlocked (always no, because the game has no purchases yet). The save never leaves your phone and the developer cannot see it. Other apps cannot read it.
Your place inside a chapter (the fires you have lit, the notes you have read, your lantern oil) is not saved. It lives in the phone's memory only while the game is open. The taps and drags you make are read only to play the game, and they are not recorded.
Google Play and your device
You may have installed the game from Google Play, as a tester or as a regular player. Google Play and Android collect their own information about installs, updates and device health, under Google's own privacy policy. The developer of this game does not receive your personal details from that. If you leave feedback through Google Play or by email, the developer sees what you choose to write and the address you write from, and uses it only to reply and to improve the game.
Children
The game is made for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal information from anyone, and it has no ads, no links to websites and no way to contact other people from inside it.
Purchases
The game has no purchases. Chapter One is free. Later chapters are planned. If a purchase is ever added, this policy will be updated first and will say what Google Play handles for that purchase and what, if anything, the game stores about it.
Keeping and deleting your data
The developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing for the developer to delete. To delete the save file, clear the game's storage in your phone's Android settings, or uninstall the game. Uninstalling removes the game and its save file from your phone completely.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
