Privacy Policy for SERU Prep and Life in the UK Prep

Who we are
These apps are published by KashApps. Contact: hello@kashapps.app
The short version
- Your answers, results and progress stay on your phone. We have no account system and no server, so we never receive them.
- The apps are free to start with and show ads from Google AdMob. A one-time purchase removes them.
- The ad service collects some data about your device to show and measure ads. You choose what is allowed in the privacy options.
- The apps you can install today use no analytics, no crash reporting service and no sign-in. A later version will add Firebase Analytics, described below.
What stays on your phone
Your answers, mock test results, flags, progress and settings are stored on your phone only. They are not sent to us, to Google or to the ad service. The apps do not back up to the cloud. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted with it.
Ads
The free versions show banner ads and full-screen ads, provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in the UK and the European Economic Area, Google LLC elsewhere).
When an ad is requested, shown or tapped, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the app collects and sends to Google:
- your device's IP address, which can be used to estimate your general location
- your device's advertising ID and app set ID
- how you interact with ads and the app, such as app launches, taps and video views
- information about how the app and the SDK perform, such as launch time and hangs
Google uses this to serve, measure and protect ads against fraud. We do not receive your name, email address, exact location or any of your answers from this. Data is encrypted in transit.
Google acts as the controller of the data it collects for ads. See Google's explanation at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and its privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
### Your choices
- On first use after the first session, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform asks about ads where the law requires it, including the UK and the European Economic Area. Nothing ad-related loads before you answer.
- You can change that choice at any time under About, then Ad privacy choices.
- You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings (Settings, Privacy, Ads), and you can opt out of ad personalisation there.
- Buying the ad-free upgrade stops ads and the ad data they involve. In Life in the UK Prep, the one-time unlock of the full question bank also removes ads.
The first session after a fresh install shows no ads and no consent form.
Analytics (planned)
A later version of each app will add Firebase Analytics, a Google service, to show us in general terms how the apps are used, for example which screens are opened and how often. It will collect data such as an app instance ID, app launches and screen views, and Google will process it. Your answers and results will not be part of it. The apps you can install today do not include it. Before a version with Firebase Analytics is released, this policy and the Data safety section in Google Play will be updated, and the consent choice described above will cover it where the law requires.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. Google Play tells the app whether you own a purchase, and the app keeps a small note of that on your phone so it works offline. If Google Play reports that a purchase was refunded, the ad-free upgrade is switched off at a later launch of the app.
Children
The apps are for adults preparing for a licensing or citizenship test. They are not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Data we hold about you
None. Because your answers and results never leave your phone and we run no server or account system, we hold no personal data to access, correct or delete. For data held by Google, use Google's tools at https://myaccount.google.com or Android's ad settings.
Permissions
The apps ask for no permissions that show a prompt. The ads builds declare network access (needed to load ads) and the advertising ID permission. Builds without ads have neither.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at https://kashapps.app/seru-prep/privacy/ and https://kashapps.app/life-uk-prep/privacy/ with a new date, and the Data safety section in Google Play is updated to match.
Legal basis (UK and EEA)
Where the ad service uses data from your device for ads, it relies on your consent, given or withdrawn in the consent form.
